Two-time defending Group AA champion Devin Carter made it official Wednesday afternoon, as the Christiansburg High School senior signed a Letter of Intent to wrestle at Virginia Tech.
Carter, who made verbal commitment to the Hokies last April, was also contacted Oklahoma State, Penn State, UVA and several others.
“He’s extremely coachable and is a hard worker. He has great academics, he has everything that you look for in a student-athlete,” said Christiansburg head wrestling coach Daryl Weber. “Even when he [Carter] was a freshman, he was a team leader. He wasn’t really vocal, he just led by example. He was always working hard and was a good example to the other kids because his hard work would produce results.”
