Devin Carter wrestled unattached at the Hokie Open this past weekend. Carter started the
tournament off with a pin in 2:59 against Brett Lostern of Gardner Webb. The second round put Carter against Kent State starter 125 Troy Opfer with Carter coming out on to 8-4. Carter suffered his first loss to redshirt sophomore Matt Snyder of UVA in the Quarterfinals 4-8. The tournament was set up with no consolation quarterfinals so by losing before the semifinals the best a wrestler could get was fifth place. In the consolation bracket Carter earned a fall against Manuel Ramirez of UNC-G and a decision against Brian Bokoski of UNC before losing 11-6 to Peter Terrezza of Duke University.
